October Newsletter 2018

Dear Parents,

As we approach our mid term break, there are a few points of information for you. We are very happy with how the new boys and girls have settled into school and we think they are now ready to arrive at school and to be dropped off at the gate so they may enter by themselves. While we are delighted to see parents, it is time to allow the children to develop their social skills with their friends in the mornings. If you have any concerns do contact the school but after Hallowe’en break we will expect the boys and girls to come in by themselves and play with their friends.

We would like to congratulate the Rackard League team on their recent success and wish them well in the Final which will be played some time in November. Special thanks to Mr. Cummings and Shirley Roche for their hard work and dedication in preparing the boys for the competition.  We will play St. Aidan’s Enniscorthy in the Final.

All of the children from infants to second class are now taking part in junior choir every Friday and are preparing lots of new songs. Huge thanks to Miss Quirke for organising this. The children are having a ball. Senior choir continues with the children exploring a whole new repertoire.

Parent teacher meetings will be in November and we are hoping to use the Aladdin scheduler which will allow you to choose your own times. As such, you will find a detailed letter about Aladdin attached. We hope to reduce costs of text messaging and notes by use the Aladdin app. which parents need to download. Please read the letter carefully and if you have any concerns re data protection then you must contact us by Friday of this week.

Thanks to everyone who supported the Fun Run. Over €5,200 was raised and we are very grateful to everyone for making this year another great success.

4th and 5th Classes will participate in SING OUT LOUD on Sunday 18th November at 2pm. We are sure they will have a great time and we thank Mr. O’ Sullivan for preparing them so well.

Smiling Face with No FillWe continue to send notifications re payments on Aladdin. There are currently 210 children on the roll. We thank those who have already made payments but there are still some 50% of monies outstanding in the book rental and photocopying payments. We ask parents to consider making payment over the mid-term break if possible. If you are unable to make payment, please contact Mrs. Barron. Thank you.

We do have school on Friday as the CBS primary is not being used as a polling station this time.  We wish you all a very safe and happy Hallowe’en.  See you all on the 5th November.

Sincerely

V. Barron.
