JohnSpillane
On Thursday the 30th of April, we had a
very important visitor. John Spillane a famous traditional Irish
musician came to our school. He sang live for Mr. Howard’s and Mr.
Pitt’s fourth classes and Mrs. Ruddock’s and Ms. Coughlan’s fifth
classes.
He sang Baidin Fheilimi, Peigin Leitir Moir, Trasna
na dTonnta, Seamuisin, Oro, Se do Bheatha Abhaile, Beidh Aonach
Amarach, The Rattling Bog and the Wild Rovers. We had learned some
of the songs beforehand so we could sing along with John. He also
taught us The Rattling Bog. There was a great atmosphere in the
room. Everyone was clapping and singing along with John. It was a
brilliant day.
