Planting Bulbs

One day my class and room seventeen went out to the garden and planted bulbs. Then Sean told us to put a bulb down in the soil and told us to put five holes in the ground and then Miss picked five people to put five bulbs in the soil. Then we had to cover the bulbs. We planted daffodils. The bulbs will come out in Spring. I can't wait to  see them when they come out in Spring.

The Stone-Age People in Ireland

The stone age hunters came to Ireland in 7ooobc and the farmers came in 4ooobc.In Autumn the stone age people went fishing for salmon and trout. And the farmers that came to Ireland  made their own pots. Then the stone age people made their own boats out of trees. When the farmers came to Ireland and they milked some cows. And that’s my story about the farmers and the stone age people.

Lithuania

My name is Laurynas. I come from Panevėžys, which is in the north of Lithuania, near the border of Latvia. I lived in a small village outside the town with my Granny. She had hens, pigs, goats, three cats, a dog and loads of rabbits.

People in Lithuania speak two languages  - Russian and Lithuanian. Many people had to speak Russian in 1863 after the rebellion. In 1989 people were allowed to speak their own language again.

There are lots of tall men in Lithuania. Men’s basketball is a very popular sport, and ice hockey is played as well.

At Easter time we paint eggs in different colours and play games with them.

The weather in Lithuania is very different from Ireland. In the Summer time it gets extremely hot – up to 35ºc/ 95ºf but from November to March the country is covered in a blanket of snow, and the temperature can drop as low as –5ºC/23ºF.

I now live in Wexford town. I would like to return to Lithuania for my holidays.
